Who we are, what drives us and what we have achieved since 2008.
Who we are
Forum & Projekt Lausitz e.V. stands for inclusive and shared participation of citizens from Bad Muskau with and without disadvantages and disabilities in the development of their city.
The association sees itself as a sociocultural and civic platform supporting people with disabilities and older people, as well as art and culture and the preservation of the cross-border cultural heritage in Bad Muskau and the surrounding Lausitz region.
Forum & Projekt Lausitz e.V. is recognised as a non-profit organisation by the tax office in Görlitz.
Our Activities
Forum & Projekt Lausitz e.V. works on a voluntary basis and carries out various activities in the areas of promoting volunteering, social and intergenerational community life, supporting disadvantaged people, working towards an accessible and inclusive Lausitz region, and promoting culture and intercultural understanding.
The association participates in town and community festivals with information and activity stands and organises regular association meetings.
To carry out projects, the association applies for funding from public and private donors.
The association is always looking for volunteers and offers an active and meaningful community life for the benefit of the city of Bad Muskau and the surrounding area.

Our History
Founded in January 2008, we have since implemented numerous projects for inclusion, accessibility and cultural heritage in the Lausitz region.
2009
Making history tangible
Forums and history workshops on the Köbeln district, revitalisation of a monument, information boards and a brochure on the history of Köbeln. Funded by the ESF federal programme STÄRKEN vor Ort.
2016
Accessibility guides in Bad Muskau
People with and without disabilities assessed cultural, leisure and tourism facilities in Bad Muskau for accessibility. Funded by Aktion Mensch.
2018
Accessibility guides in the Lausitz
Parks and walking paths in the Lausitz tested and assessed for accessibility and experiential quality for various groups of people with disabilities. Funded by Aktion Mensch.
2020
Inclusive video and photo tours
Good examples of accessibility and inclusion in the cross-border region of Bad Muskau and Łęknica documented and distributed via photo stories and video podcasts. Funded by Aktion Mensch.
Since 2025
Accessible and inclusive living and travel
Development of an illustrated database for accessible travel and living in Bad Muskau, Łęknica, Gablenz and Krauschwitz. Funded by Aktion Mensch.
Our current project
Accessible and inclusive living and travel – funded by Aktion Mensch
The aim of the project is to develop an illustrated and annotated database in the form of an accessible website compliant with BITV or WCAG standards, which will significantly facilitate accessible travel and living in Bad Muskau and the surrounding area.
Citizens and relevant stakeholders from the private, public and civil sectors are to be made aware of inclusion and accessibility.
The project is being implemented in several steps:
- Networking and building cooperation
- Training peer experts, establishing evaluation and editorial teams
- Organising public awareness events
- Collecting data and creating articles
- Designing and implementing the database/website in accordance with BITV
- Publishing the website, presenting and disseminating the results
- Planning new services and projects to improve accessibility
Peer experts are trained in a five-day workshop using existing peer and qualification concepts, and several evaluation and editorial teams are formed from the group.
These teams then organise awareness workshops for local stakeholders focusing on infrastructure and transport, commerce, culture and tourism.
In a first round, the teams will evaluate 20 locations in Bad Muskau and the surrounding area, write illustrated articles on orientation and accessibility, and publish them on the website.
The results will be presented at a public closing workshop.
